Our Mission

Not-for-profit
organisation SAAMA

SAAMA aims to be able to educate as many children in the locality as possible, providing a high standard of education to give youngsters the best possible start in life.   We also aim to improve childhood mortality rates by providing FREE medical care to all under 5’s and nursery school children.

Malaria is a real killer and before SAAMA’s involvement, children often died of malaria.  Post-natal deaths of new mums is also a common occurrence which we are trying hard to reduce, by improving monitoring, maternity care and post-natal education.

The Arribaja clinic is currently the only clinic within the wider community to offer free powdered baby milk to these motherless babies, enabling them to continue being cared for by extended family.  At £10 for 2 tins of formula , donations are ALWAYS required for this milk fund.  Supplementary milk and weaning foods are also available for orphans as far away as MariamaKunda and Tujering.
